CLUB JUNIOR TRAINING STRUCTURE

The Club Junior clinics aim to develop 5 skills categories required to play successful tennis. These are structured under « I PLAY TENNIS… » theme and follow a progressive tennis training method to increase the learning speed capabilities.

Each court color corresponds to a development stage.

Young Kids

3 to 6 Years

The purpose of this level is to propose a tutorial content and equipment suited for this age level. All has been put in place to facilitate the game approach.

Material:

Little Tennis (3 to 4 years)

  • Mini court of 6 m
  • Coordination on court

White court (5 to 6 years)

  • Mini court of 6 m
  • No net with central line on the ground; with net of 0,50m height
  • Inflated balloon and 17 to 19 inches racket

Purple court (5 to 6 years)

  • Mini court of 12m with net of 0,50m height
  • Foam or pressureless balls and 19 to 21 inches racket

To learn more:
  • Develop the required coordination applicable to tennis
  • Identify the balls directions
  • Adopt a sideway position to forehand/backhand stroke
  • Visualize forward points of contact on forehand/backhand stroke
  • Get the proper forward momentum to serve the ball.

Red court

7 to 10 years

The Red Tennis is a fun way to play tennis and see progress.  Players learn the basic techniques of exchange and serve.

Material:
  • Mini court of 12m with net of 0,80m height
  • Red balls and 23 to 25 inches racket
  • Ratio of 1 pro / 6 athletes
Schedule:
1.5 hour per week

Technical / Tactical Abilities:

  • Judge and identify balls trajectories
  • Acquire technical and tactical basic abilities
  • Hit the ball about waist high during rallies
  • Get in proper positioning before hitting the ball
  • Score points in playing strategically
  • Get a good swing through the ball when serving

Orange court

7 to 10 Years

Orange Tennis develops the technical tools for a smooth transition to play matches adapted to this level on standard courts.

Material:
  • Court of 18m with net of 0,80m height
  • Orange balls and 23 to 25 inches racket
  • Ratio of 1 pro / 6 athletes

Technical / Tactical Abilities:

  • Learn the footwork patterns and movements (side steps, crossover steps, stance, etc.)
  • Use the proper grips to generate acceleration in the racket head
  • Get consistent impact points during forehand and backhand
  • Improve the movement fluidity between set-up and contact using forehand and backhand
  • Serve with a higher point of contact and develop a more dynamic and coordinate shot
  • Work on rallies’ regularity
  • Get a tactical focus : down the line and crosscourt shots

9 to 14 Years

Green Tennis focus is to improve more the technical and tactical abilities in order to play single/double matches under real game conditions.

Material:
  • Court of 24m with standard net of 0,91m height
  • Green transition balls and 25 to 27 inches racket
  • Ratio of 1 pro / 6 athletes

Technical / Tactical Abilities:

  • Generate more balls speed and create spins to control rallies
  • Make sideways turn of shoulder using the semi open stance
  • While moving forward, hit the ball well in front, step towards the net
  • Synchronize arms and improve rotation motion during serve
  • Learn how to change ball trajectory
  • Identify the right timing for offensive and defensive strokes

Yellow court and League

11 to 14 Years

Blue Tennis focuses on reinforcing the technical aspects of the game to improve the player’s efficiency and addresses the players’ tactical abilities in order to win matches

Matérial :
  • Court of 24m and standard net of 0,91m height
  • Regular balls and 27 inches racket
  • Ratio of 1 pro / 4 athletes
Schedule:

Yellow court (11 to 14 years)

2 hours per week

Ligue (10 to 14 years)

2 hours per week; 1-hour singles and 1-hour doubles

Technical / Tactical Abilities:

  • Hit the ball using height, spin and speed
  • Play zonal tennis and understand what the lines on the court mean
  • Make use of the opponent ball speed to create rythm
  • Hit the ball on the rise, above shoulders’ height
  • Serve motion with full extension of the arm and use of different serve tosses
  • Manage your court zone and timing
  • Connect different strokes to create sequence of shots
